History of Stäubli in India
Stäubli has been present in India since its independence in 1947, when it initially supplied imported textile machinery to the country.
In 1993, in order to provide better local support for its operations, the Stäubli Group established its own subsidiary in India. First, as a liaison office, later, in 1996, as a Branch office, and by the end of 2009 as a Private limited company.
In 2010, in addition to traditional Textile machinery activities, Stäubli also established a Connectors division to serve the fast growing Indian industry with quick couplings, quick mold change systems, tool changers and accessories needed by the automotive, plastics, manufacturing and many other industries.
The Stäubli Group company Multi-Contact also set foot in India, to cater for the industrial demand for electrical connection solutions. Multi-Contact also supports India’s growth path in the field of solar power generation, providing reliable junction boxes, cabling and electrical connectors.
In 2012, Stäubli India moved to a new building in Mumbai's Andheri business district.
In 2013, the activities of the Connectors division with regard to both fluid and electrical connectors (Multi-Contact product range) were merged into the new entity Stäubli Tec-Systems India Pvt. Ltd.
Additionally, Stäubli’s Robotics activity was established with a full sales and service representation, to better meet India’s growing need for engineering expertise and technological ingenuity in industrial production.
